Miranda NG is the successor of Miranda IM, the popular multi-protocol instant messaging client for Windows PCs, which is built on the basis of the multi-protocol program, lightweight on system resources, very fast and highly customizable, thanks to the multiple supported plug-ins.
Similar to its predecessor, it supports many protocols from various networks such as ICQ, Jabber, Yahoo, IRC, AIM, MSN, Facebook, Skype, Twitter, WhatsApp and more. As well as its Functionality can be greatly enhanced with an extensive set of plugins to supporting more services.
This interface is highly customizable, from the menu layout, to the chat window or the mode in which the message history is stored. In addition, some extensions can be dynamically loaded or unloaded on Miranda NG.
Among the list of supported plug-ins, the following include: Miranda image service, database checker, avatar service, crash dumper, contact import. The complete list of plug-ins can be accessed via the Options menu.
Miranda NG allows you to store message history in a secure database, which is encrypted automatically. The type of encryption can be chosen as you want to apply, the default level only encrypt your passwords or security tokens, while Total encryption includes all string settings, events, and complete history.
Miranda NG is designed to bring several online chat networks to your desktop, allowing you to connect to one service. You can even log in to multiple accounts simultaneously and receive messages from all your contacts. In addition, this program allows you to adjust its functionality and layout according to your preferences from the toolbar, import of contacts, message sessions, or even notifications.
This app can import contacts from your account automatically, every time you configure a new protocol. You can even import contacts from previously created profiles.
